Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Press and hold the Top button until the device restarts.<\/li>\n<li>iPhone 8 or later: Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Press and hold the Side button until you see the Apple logo.<\/li>\n<li>iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, and iPod touch (7th generation): Press and hold both the Side (or Top) button and the Volume Down button\u00a0until you see the Apple logo.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>iPad with Home button, iPhone 6s or earlier, and iPod touch\u00a0(6th generation) or earlier: Press and hold both the Side (or Top) button and the Home button\u00a0until you see the Apple logo.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Reinstall iOS or iPadOS<\/h3>\n<p>If you still see the\u00a0Restore\u00a0screen after you restart, you need to reinstall iOS or iPadOS:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>On your Mac, make sure that you\u2019ve\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/kb\/HT201541\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">installed the latest software updates<\/a>\u00a0(including iTunes if you have MacOS Mojave or earlier). Or on your Windows\u00a0PC, make sure that you\u2019ve\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/kb\/HT201352\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">installed the latest version of iTunes<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Connect your device to your computer using the cable that came with your device.
